Michael Moore and David Parker SCBU fundraising Hello

Thank you for taking the time to visit 4 Abbeys 4 SCBU.

Many of you already know that we have both become fathers this year. David celebrated the birth of his son, Angus, in March, while Michael celebrated the arrival of Ella in May.

Both Angus and Ella were premature - Angus was born 7 weeks early, and Ella 4 weeks. They both spent the first period of their lives being looked after by the team of doctors and nurses in the Special Care Baby Unit of the Borders General Hospital. The care and support that both Angus and Ella received while in the Special Care Baby Unit was absolutely invaluable in giving them the best possible start in life.

It is for this reason that we have organised the "4 Abbeys 4 SCBU" walk starting over the English bank holiday weekend on 29th August and finishing on 2nd September. This is a 5 day 65 mile walk taking in all the abbeys in the Borders. Of course, as a by product of our efforts we hope that we will also encourage others to come to the area and enjoy the walking and other opportunities of this beautiful part of the world!
